Lost saved file

I have been saving documents on a file all year on Adobe Scan, I modified that file 2 days ago by adding a page, when I went to add another document to that file today, the file was gone.  I checked my document cloaud and it is not there either.  Shouldn't that file still made available since it had been saved each time I was adding a document?
