Question

New to Adobe Scan--cannot send emails

**UPDATE: It works now. To my knowledge, I did nothing different. I had a spare moment and decided to try yet again and was successful. It is working fine now.**

I downloaded Adobe Scan earlier this week but cannot get it to email anything I scan. I have tried to share a link, send a copy, and email directly. I have turned my phone on and off and uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I have looked at other posts on this topic in the community and still can't make it work.

iPhone 6s

iOS 13.3

Adobe Scan Version 19.11.12

What can I do? Thanks.

Same here! The send button (which I think is the upward facing arrow) is grayed out. I can set up the e-mail with the attachment but cannot send it. Has anybody figured this out?

I just figured it out! Adobe Scan uses the "Mail" app to send e-mails, which I had deleted because I don't use the Mail app. I've just reinstalled the Mail app and now my Adobe Scan app can send e-mails.

Hi @Ranjit32589459vx0i,

Hope you are doing well. Thank you for writing in!

This is a system default for Apple iOS. We already checked if this can be changed, but the limitation with the OS restricts the application to using other Email apps when the email option is selected directly.

The other way would be to use the option to send a copy and then select the Mail application you prefer.

Same problem here, I guess you get what you pay for? Would definitely never purchase Adobe apps if this one is any indication!

This has been ongoing. I've tried everything and wasted valuable time. You should be able to send something to email or message or the app is worthless. I've tried every which way. It was a problem last year and I would spend time toggling and trying different things and usually I could get it to go through. This time, nothing. I may as well take a screen shot and send it or use my phone or find a different scan app. It should be easy and clear and if the share button doesn't do it, then what does?

I've been using the Adobe Scan on my iPhone 16 and was able to email it to my work email, but it is not going through to my email at work anymore. It has something to do with some setting. I think on Exchange but I can't get to it please let me know when I can do. Thanks. You can email me at [P.I removed by moderator]

Hi there,

Hope you are doing well and thanks for reaching out.

If you were previously able to email scans to your work email but are now experiencing issues, it's possible that your organization's email security settings or Exchange policies have changed. Here are a few steps you can try:

Check Your Outbox – If the email is stuck in your Outbox, try resending it.

Try a Different Email – Send the scan to a personal email to see if the issue is specific to your work email.

Review Email Restrictions – Your IT department may have updated restrictions on external emails. Contact them to check if Adobe Scan is being blocked.

Please try to logout of the app, reboot the device once and relogin with the same Adobe ID and check.

Let us know how it goes.
