Privacy of the iOS scan app

Dear Sirs,

I wanted to use "Adobe Scan" to scan my documents. As I am working in the medical field, it is necessary by law, that the document do not leave my iPhone. As far as I realized while making my first scans, the docuemnts are always uploaded to your cloud. This is an absolute no go for sensitive data.

Is it really like that ?
