Scan from photos but keep image in order?

Hello, I am trying to use Adobe Scan on my android phone to import a folder of photos of a document I took. However, when I select the images from the folder and import, they show up in a totally random order in Adobe Scan. Is there away to import images and keep the order, without adding one image at a time?

Nope reorder doesn't help as we want...We want to sort by their names...So any more suggestions?


Hi Bkmen,

In Adobe Scan, when you select the multiple photos to convert them into a scanned PDF, it combines them into a single file.

In this case, each photo will act like a page of the file.

So, the only option to sort out the images in a pattern is either you select the files in the same order before converting them to scan.

Or you can reorder the images (on Edit page or using the modify scan option) as mentioned previously.

If you are referring to sort out the list of the files by their names in Adobe Scan application, then use the steps mentioned under the headline " Sort by name or date" in this help document Working with Scanned Documents — Adobe Scan Help.

The feature to display the images in order was added in the previous versions of Adobe Scan.

 

Do you see any issues when trying to import bulk images into Adobe Scan? 

If yes, would you mind sharing a few pieces of information for further troubleshooting:

1. The app version of Adobe Scan you are using (go to Home > Profile > About Adobe Scan);

2. A screen recording of the issue for better understanding;

3. Are you trying to import the images directly from your gallery? If yes, have you tried using the gallery icon on the Adobe Scan app to select them in order and then import?

I am having the same problem when I try to import using the "Show all photos...". It does not seem to take any particular order using this method of import. I solved it by downloading a program called BulkFileChanger by Nirsoft.

 

1. Open all of the files you want in this program, in the order they are in. For me, this was easy as they were numbered.

 

2. Select all by pressing Ctrl+A.

 

3. Go to Actons > Change Time / Attributes, and check all the boxes on the top 3 rows, as well as the Date / Time Sequence mode. I changed the "Add" option on all of them to 1 minute, but what this is set to is not entirely important.

 

4. Press "Do it", and it will change the dates and times to increase by however long you set it to for each file, in the order that they are in here.

 

5. Find a way to get this on to your phone. I found that using Google Drive did not work, as it seemed to replace the dates that I just changed, but it might work for you. What I used was an app called "File Manager +" to access my shared folder on the computer that I just did the previous steps on. Using an SD card would work as well. Hooking your phone up to USB and transfering this way might work as well, but I'm not sure if it does anything funky with the dates.

 

6. Open Adobe Scan, and press the button to start a new scan using images. Do not go to "Show all photos". Use the default selection tool, and all your images should be in order (but in reverse), so scroll down to find the first image, and start selecting them in the order that they show up, going up and to the left. It will number them in the order that they will show up in the app.

 

7. Click the check box at the top, and you can do everything you normally would to a scan, and save your PDF in the order you wanted it in with no extra organization!

Yup,..Having same problem...Without a fix of this problem...This app is worst

Hi there,

As you are scanning the images on your device using the Adobe Scan app, please select the images in an order as you wish them aligned in the PDF.

The pages of the PDF will be aligned in the same order as you select the images from your device.

If you still wish to make any changes to the pages order, you can use the Reorder icon on the Edit page before saving it to PDF.

Check the steps for Reorder Pages under Edit Scan in this helps document Scanning Documents — Adobe Scan Help.

For already saved files, you can use Modify scan option.

Take help of the steps mentioned for "Modify existing scans" in this help document  Working with Scanned Documents — Adobe Scan Help.
