Scans in PDF/A format?

Hej, does anybody know, if the app Adobe Scan can save in PDF/A format? All I can see is PDF version 1.3, but the scans are editable, therefore perhaps not in PDF/A. Is there an alternative for PDF/A on Android?

Hi there,

Hope you’re doing well, and thank you for reaching out!

The Adobe Scan app automatically converts your scans to PDFs and uploads them to Adobe Cloud Storage for easy access and management. If you need to protect sensitive documents, Adobe Scan also allows you to apply password protection to ensure only authorized individuals can open your PDFs.

How to Set a Password for Your Scans:

  1. In your file list, tap the More Options (⋮) icon next to the file you want to protect.
  2. Select Set Password.
  3. In the dialog box that appears, enter your desired password and confirm it by re-entering it.
  4. Tap Set Password to save your changes.

Once you’ve applied the password, the PDF will display a lock badge, indicating it’s now password-protected. Anyone attempting to open the file will need to enter the password you set.

For further details, feel free to refer to the official guide on password-protecting scans here.

Thank you Amal!

Yes, it's about long-term archiving with PDF/A. So I have to use some more steps.
