Search does not appear to work

I have scanned a few documents. Scan was able to pull text out of the images (I can copy out of them) but when I try to search terms that I know are in the documents I always get "No results found."

Is this just me, or is this common to all versions of the app?

Hi Magicmaster,

It depends on the document that you scan via the Adobe Scan application.

If the document that you scan has the handwritten text or the text which cannot be changed into selectable text, it will not make it a searchable text.

As you have mentioned above, the scan was able to pull out the images. Does that mean you are creating PDF out of the images on your mobile?

Would it be possible to share any sample document that we can check on our end? You may share the file using the steps provided here How to share a file using Adobe Document Cloud

Also, please share the application and OS version installed on your Android device.

Hi,

All the documents are printed text.

The process I was using was scan with my camera>attempt to search and have had no luck.

I'm using Adobe Scan on Android 9.

Hi Magicmaster,

Sorry for the delay in response.

I have checked the files that you have shared with us. I have opened the file in Adobe Acrobat Reader mobile application and was able to search text without any issues.

When I scan that document with Adobe Scan application and search the text, that also works without any issues.

Would like to inform you that when you search the text in the Adobe Scan, it highlights the text with red color.

As the PDF is in red color, it does show it properly. Also, if the text is not available in the PDF, it does not show any message.

Could you please check once again and let us now?

If you still experience this behavior, please share the screenshots of the screen when you search the text.

Also, share the Adobe Scan version you are using.
