  • scan a single page
  • save the scan as a .pdf file
  • “Rename” the file to any name greater than 20 characters long.
  • “Send a Copy” to, for example, Evenote.
  • The file name is always truncated to 20 characters long.
    Correct answer Amal.

    Hi @authentic_grace1674 ,

Hope you are doing well and thank you so much for reaching out, and I really appreciate you taking the time to report this.

I tested this on my end using two different apps — WhatsApp and Evernote. I noticed that the full file name appears correctly in WhatsApp, but it gets truncated in Evernote.

Based on this, it looks like the file name is being shared correctly from Adobe Scan. The truncation seems to be a limitation of the receiving app (in this case, Evernote), which may have its own character limit or display restriction for file names.

    You may want to try:

    • Shortening the file name before sharing
    • Checking if the receiving app has any known file name length limits
    • Updating the receiving app to the latest version

    I hope this helps.

Thank you Amal. I am reporting the bug to Evernote. Evernote does allow file names longer than 20 characters if you create the file name when creating the note. So the bug must be in the Evernote software when receiving the file from another app such as Adobe Scan.

    Thank you!
