Some pdf have gone

I scanned documents that I needed with me before going to vacation. 
When I tried to open them, I got an error 3 message saying they couldn't open the file. 
I restarted the app and now they have totally disappeared from the list. 

I checked online and they are not there either. 
Is there anyway to find them back? I'm desperate!

I hope you are doing well. I am sorry for your experience with Adobe Scan.

 

As you mentioned that you get error messages, can you please share a screenshot of the error you get so we can check further?

Also, please share the version of Adobe Scan you are using.
