Urgent – Adobe Scan PDF accidentally deleted yesterday – possible recovery request

Hello Adobe community,

I accidentally deleted an important Adobe Scan PDF yesterday.

The scan was created on my iPhone at approximately 11:30 AM, and I selected Save PDF. Approximately 30 minutes later, at around 12:00 PM, I accidentally deleted the scan from Adobe Scan.

I have checked Adobe Scan, Adobe Cloud → Adobe Scan, Adobe Cloud → Deleted, and the Files app on my iPhone. The PDF is not available anywhere.

Because the file was created only about 30 minutes before it was deleted , could you please check whether it may still be recoverable from any Adobe backend retention, backup, or temporary storage?

Device: iPhone
App: Adobe Scan
Scan time: approximately 11:30AM
Deletion time: approximately 12:00 PM

The document is extremely important to me. I would greatly appreciate it if this could be escalated to the appropriate technical team for a recovery check.

Thank you.

    Hi,Amal

Thank you for getting back to me.

Yes, I am signed in to Adobe Scan with the exact same Adobe ID/email that I was using when I created the scan yesterday.

I also checked Adobe Cloud > Deleted through the web portal while signed in to the same Adobe account. I can see my Adobe Scan files there, but unfortunately the specific scan that I accidentally deleted yesterday is not showing in the Deleted folder.

The important detail is that the scan was created only about 30 minutes before it was deleted. The scan was completed around 11:30 AM, and I accidentally deleted it at approximately 12:00 PM yesterday.

Because the scan was created only minutes before the deletion, I am concerned that it may have been in the process of syncing/uploading when it was deleted. However, I am not certain whether it showed a “waiting to upload” status before deletion.

Could you please check from your side whether there is any way to recover this recently deleted scan or locate an unsynced/orphaned copy associated with my Adobe Scan account?

I understand that if the file was never successfully synced to Adobe Cloud, it may not appear in the Deleted folder. However, since the deletion occurred only about 10 minutes after the scan was created, I would really appreciate it if you could check whether the file or any temporary/cloud-side copy still exists on Adobe’s servers.

This document is very important to me, so I would greatly appreciate any recovery option or escalation to the appropriate technical team if possible.

    Thank you for your help.

@Festive_leader8927, while I can not assure you that we would be able to recover the lost file, I can try checking with the backend team. Could you please let us know the name of the file that got deleted?

    Thank you for your response.

The file was created by scanning a document in Adobe Scan, and I did not manually rename the file. Adobe Scan automatically assigned the file name.

As far as I remember, the file name assigned by the system was “Adobe Scan Aug 9, 2026”. I did not change or manually enter this name.

The scan was created at approximately 11:30 AM yesterday, August 9, 2026, and it was accidentally deleted at approximately 12:00 PM, only about 30 minutes later.

I have already checked Adobe Cloud and the Deleted/Trash section, but the file is not there.

This file is extremely important to me and is directly related to my work. Unfortunately, losing this document could have serious consequences for my job, and I may potentially lose my job because of it.

Could you please ask the backend team to search for the scan using my Adobe account, the file name “Adobe Scan Aug 9, 2026”, and the approximate creation/deletion times?

I would be extremely grateful if there is any possibility of recovering the scan, even if it requires assistance from the backend or technical team.

Thank you very much for your help and for taking the time to look into this matter.

    Hi @Festive_leader8927 ,

Hope you are doing well, and thanks for reaching out. We are sorry for the trouble you are experiencing.

A few quick questions to help narrow this down:

Are you signed into Adobe Scan with the exact same Adobe ID (email) you were using when you created the scan yesterday?
When you checked "Adobe Cloud > Deleted" on the web portal at https://adobe.ly/3SpTM0A / Adobe Home, were you signed in with that same account?
Do you recall if the scan showed a "waiting to upload" or syncing status before you deleted it, rather than being fully saved?

Here's what's worth trying if you haven't already:

Go to https://adobe.ly/3SpTM0A (or open Adobe Home) and sign in with the same Adobe ID.
Open Files, then check the Deleted folder there specifically. Deleted cloud files are normally kept for up to 30 days and can only be restored from there or via the Creative Cloud desktop app, not from the mobile app itself.
If you see it, use the restore option from that file's menu.

More detail here: Restore deleted files in Acrobat on mobile

If it's genuinely not showing up anywhere in that Deleted folder on the web portal, that usually means either it never finished syncing to the cloud before it was deleted, or it's tied to a different Adobe ID than the one you're checking. I want to be upfront: once a file is confirmed gone from there, there's no way to pull it back.
