Can we get Infinte canvas in XD?

Hello,

The app I'm designing is to large for the pasteboard. I can't see any way to enlarge the pasteboard, so I'm wondering if there is a workaround. I'm hoping there is perhaps a way to link up 2 artboards to look like they're seemlessly scrolling, for when I send it to my client.

Any help would be appreciated!

Hi there. Unfortunately, although this feature has been requested, the team hasn't responded on when or if it will be implemented. Feel free to upvote it as well.

Other than that, I don't think you need to go that realistic when making a prototype with the infinite scrolling. Although I don't know the specifics of your app, I usually showcase all the essential elements and if it's just going to be more of the same in a random configuration - it's usually not worth the hassle.

You could use a scroll group to simulate more content as well, but it's not the best solution as it's a bit unreliable on when it will start scrolling and it often breaks the flow.

Hi!

Thanks so much for your response. Yes normally I wouldn't need it, but for this app I'm dealing with an odd request. It's quite a small app (basically a online food/drink menu, but without capacity to order, so just browsing). And so the client wants to sign off the entire thing - images / copy etc.

I guess a scroll group, or just another artboard with the continuing content (with an explanation to the client) would be the solutions.

Thanks!

Mary

When I've done such things in the past I did as you also wrote - multiple artboards. At the end of each you can have a button that says "Load More", which goes to the next one. It's one-directional, but as long as the client and the devs know what's supposed to happen, I think it's fine. It's a prototype after all, and if the idea is to just see the content, it seems a reasonable solution to me. I would even make shorter artboards and split it into sections, so it's easier to navigate.
