17.04 issues after upgrade

Hi, After doing the 17.04 update I spent two days trying to open Premiere Pro. It just hung, no errors. Sometimes not even a splash screen. 

 

Signed in and out a bunch ot times, un/reinstalled, checked permissions, ran as Administrator, reset prefs, reinstalled CC desktop, checked AV, ran the Cleaner tool, you name it. Nada.

 

After digging deeper I seem to have resolved the issue by rolling back PP and AE to previous versions.

 

Unless I'm mistaken the cause seemed to be PP dynamic links with AE.

 

I believe the Cinemaware plugin was freezing (it was replicatably non responsive in Windows Services) Possibly an authentication or licensing issue since the upgrade? I don't know, but rolling back seems to have resolved it and I can continue working.

 

Has anyone experienced similar issues or have further insight into this? TIA.

Would like to know before I update again.

Hi, I'm closing this thread. It appears that unknown to me, our I.T. department silently rolled out a group policy change to security permissions which coincided with the update. That's what fubared the install. 

 

I rolled forward and redid all updates again and everything now seems good.

I love our I.T. department.
