2023 - No playback or auto-keyframing in comps with 3D layers, lights and camera???

Just installed After Effect 2023 and it's not playing back my 3D comp with lights and camera, either using the Preview menu or the spacebar. Comp is less than 10 seconds long, and it has 32 GB of RAM to work with, and 26GB with AME open at the same time. I don't know why it won't work on a Macbook Pro, 2021, running Monterey 12.4. Auto-keyframing doesn't work either - nothing happens! UGH! Help?

Can you jump around the timeline?  Does the preview update if you do?  If not, then it sounds like a graphics card crash to me.  

After a restart, see if it all works and if it doesn't, try switch to Software Only (File > Project Settings).  

There's been a long running issue with Mac (PC user here), but I thought I'd seen that it was resolved.
