3D camera issues using the "Two Views" option

Using the 3D camera tool. Once I've placed my layers (photos) on the timeline and ensured they're all checked for 3D, I then switch to a 2 view . My "active camera" view seems to be fine. However the second view (especially the "Top View") nothing shows but a black box screen and sometimes a red line. None of the layers or the camera show up. Even when I select the individual layers.
