3D camera tracker: layer size must match composition and use default transform values

Hi all,

I am currently facing the above problem in After Effects when trying to add a 3D Camera Tracker to my clip.

 

Here's my workflow and details of the footage I am working with.

 

Footage: 3840x2160 resolution; 100 fps. Full duration is 15 seconds.

 

1. I am editing this footage on a 1920x1080 sequence in Premiere Pro. I am using only 5 seconds of the entire source footage.

2. Replaced this footage in After Effects composition.

3. The Comp settings shows up 1920x1080, and the MP4 file is in 3840x2160.

4. Applied 3D Camera Tracker onto the MP4 layer and got the above error.

 

Method I have tried:

- Tried to create a pre-comp on the MP4 layer and applied 3D Camera Tracker to the MP4 layer inside the pre-comp and it's taking ages to analyze.

 

Can any experts here give me some advice on my workflow? Am I doing anything wrong?

Or is this just the way it is (that I have to keep waiting)?

 

Just want to resolve this error.

You have to pre-compose the trimmed and scaled footage layer, moving all attributes and trimming the pre-comp to the length of the layer. You then select the nested comp (your new pre-comp) in the main comp and run Track Camera. It's also a good idea to use the Motion Tracking workspace for the camera tracking. 

 

If that does not work, we need screenshots embedded (not attached) that show the modified properties of the footage layer. Press 'uu' with the footage selected before you pre-compose, then copy and paste the screenshot to the reply field on the forum.

It gives this error when the composition name and video name are different!
It works when I drag the image from the project tab directly to the timeline
