3D Camera tracker not working

I'm running the most recent version of AE on the new M1 Mac.

I am pulling my hair out as i can't get 3D Camera Tracker to work. The clip is 4k prores. Keep getting the same error message; 'Unable to obtain dynamiclink project', it won't move past inisitaliing.

Considering downgrading to AE 2019 but i am not sure how to do that.

Any suggestion of fixing 3D camera tracker or downgrading to a working version gratefully recieved.

Correct answer Rick Gerard

You might try allocating an even number of GB of ram to other applications. Sometimes, if you only have 8 GB AE will allocate 5 to Adobe and 3 to other apps. I've found that 4 and 4 work better. Dynamic Link does not seem to like odd numbers of GB.

If that doesn't work then I would try transcoding the clip to an image sequence or rendering a Proxy and motion tracking the proxy.

Rick! You total legend, your suggestion worked! I have 16gb ram, it was split 13gb and 3gb, changed it to 12gb and 4gb and its processing!!!

Hero. Thank you.

At this point AE is running in quirks mode on M1 Macs (if at all). This may never work until AE gets proper native support for those machines, which should of course happen with the next major update. other than that the usual applies: Check your firewall settings and user permissions for the temp folders and all that...
