3D layers are stacking oddly now in CC19?

OK so heres the idea. I do this type of animation a LOT. You have 5 layers in Photoshop of a landscape. You bring the file into AE and you now have 5 layers in AE.

If you click the 3D checkbox on all of the layers absolutely NOTHING should change. Nothing should move or overlap eachother at this point. Its not until you adjust the z-position and incorporate a camera that you'll see changes happening.

This is no longer the case in the latest version of AE.

Try it yourself. Make a comp with 3 solids of different colors. Make them 3D and you'll see them mess up.

Whats the problem? How can I fix this to be how it used to be?

You are using the Cinema 4D renderer, maybe this is the problem. Try to change to Classic 3D and tell us if it works. Click on the CINEMA 4D button on your upper right corner of the Composition Panel to change it.

My After Effects works as expected. Are you sure your composition is set to Active Camera?. When you have the view in Front View, the z-space is not perceptible.
