3D object rotating in a circle

I created a 3D object that i am trying to rotate with a null object layer. when i do try to ratate it, it rotates in a circular motion instead of rotating in one place. I dont know if I'm explaining this right but it's never done this before and I've been trying to fix it for a while.

You might want to try switching to 2 views and pushing the Z position deeper into your object. (In the center of your object would be ideal.)
