3D Text from Illustrator Invisible in After Effects - MacBook Air Issue?

Hey everyone,

I’m trying to animate 3D text from Illustrator in After Effects, but it’s invisible. I can move the layer, but I can’t see it. I also got a warning: “Advanced 3D is not supported by the current hardware.”

I’m new to this so I’m still learning !

I’m on a 2018 MacBook Air (do not come after me!)

• 1.6 GHz Dual-Core i5 • Intel UHD Graphics 617 • 8GB RAM

Is this a hardware limitation? Do I need a plugin like Element 3D, or should I just rasterize the text and animate it in 2D?

Any advice is appreciated!

First, see if you meet system requirements: https://helpx.adobe.com/after-effects/system-requirements/2023.html

Thanks,

Kevin

Looks like your machine doesn't meet the minimum system requirements for After Effects. Specially for using Advanced 3D. But you should be able to use the Classic 3D to turn your text 3D. Go to Composition Settings > 3D Renderer > choose Classic 3D in the drop down.

Hope it helps.

Thanks,
