3d tracker not working

I have a 15 sec video that gets stuck in the solving camera stage, takes forever. the app doesn't freeze, only delays. tested same video on other pc and it was done in less than 5 minutes.

My pc (drivers up to date):

i7 3.40 GHz

32 !RAM

nvidia GeForce GTX 1060 3GB

Win 10

After effects CC 2017.1 (14.1.0.57)

I have exactly same problem,

same footage try on Windows 10/7 (better Spec than Mac) and Mac.

Windows 10/7 just stuck on Solving Camera.

Mac easily completed the job.

I had a similar issue today - Teaching a class of 28 students, I showed them the process. It worked perfectly on my laptop, yet the same piece of footage failed on 1/3 of the machines across the lab (some laptops, some desktops).I used a VERY simple dolly forward using a gimbal with no panning. Some machines were CC2015 and others had CC2017. Quite frustrating as the tech always seems to fail on the kids who struggle the most. Again, it worked on around 20 machines, but the other 8 failed to track no matter what we did.

okay wtf... i saw this thread because my ae 2015 was failing analysis on a clip, downloaded cs6 and it tracked perfectly. How odd...

Well exactly the same footage were tracked in After Effect CS6 (!!!). And guess what - it successfully tracked. If the old version succeed tracking, how does it possible that the newer version fails? Is that a bug or something?
