3D view options missing latest version - 3D layer & camera active

So the right-hand 3D view & camera menus disappear on the composition window on my high res (2560 X 1440) monitor but if I drag the window onto my second (normal HD) monitor the menus & dropdowns reappear. Any fix for this or just wait for next update?? (worked fine in AE 2020)

    I am having this same issue. The 3D camera controls at the bottob of the composition window only show up when there is a 3D layer active. That seems to make sense, however, it leaves you unable to switch between 1 view and 2 views unless a 3D layer is active.

     

    It feels like this was a design choice for After Effects 2021. And even though it makes sense on paper for those controls to only be available when a 3D layer is active, it also feels like a "if it's not broke, why fix it?" sort of deal.

     

    If there's a checkbox somewhere I'm missing where I can toggle the 3D controls on at all times, could someone point me in the direction of where I can find it?

      There is none.  I guess they were trying for a "new and improved look" and broke it.  Thought maybe they'd get it fixed with the last update but it's probably hard to juggle priorities.  They gotta divide up their attention between fixing what the unecassary changes broke and those new shiny unecessary changes they're working on for AE 2022  🙂

        Hi Shamus!,

         

        Sorry to hear about this problem. Would it be possible for you to share a video recording of this issue? That will help us understand the issue better.

        We're aware of an issue where the View Layout button doesn't appear if your project doesn't have any 3D comps. The button appears when you create a 3D layer.

          OK so I now have a new monitor, now both are at 2560 X 1440 and the issue is gone...
