a small AE composition into a Large AE composition

I made a short 10 second AE composition and exported it (via collect files).

Now I import this short composition into a larger composition...

but.... it looses it time sequence completely.

How can I use the 10 second composition somewhere in the timeline of the larger composition, so that it lives on its own?

before importing the smaller composition to the larger one, open the smaller composition ae file from the collected files and drag the main composition again into a new composition. Now open the larger compostion and try importing the new composition that you created in the smaller composition file.

Why don't you just drop the composition into a larger one? Sounds like you're dropping in the assets, not the actual containing comp...

I Tried that but the same thing happens. I stretches all the time sequences of my small composition. It makes all footage visible over the total timeline of the long compositions. It seems it forgets completely the time sequence i have made in the small composition.
