Hello,

After recent update when I try to 'Add to Render Queue' everything freezes up. Then crashes after a while... Anyone else experiencing this? On a Mac OS 10.13.4
Thanks for any info!

I'm having a similar issue. Anytime I try to add a comp to the render queue, AE crashes. I have to send it to Media Encoder for render.

Yeah I tried Media Encoder but no good for me. Would freeze. The online guy tried:

- Resetting the preferences to default

- Changing the project settings to OpenCL ? (not sure if thats the correct name)

Only thing that worked was reverting back to previous version. Good luck with it!

Hello,

Would you mention the specific version of After Effects you have used? A piece of idea is that you save your project file as older version like v14 and then open the project and render it if the latest version is unstable.

Yes I went to check the version of After Effects when I submitted this, and it crashed... Ha! It is version 15.1 that has the issue for me. I didn't try saving the project as an older version. The online chat people helped me this morning. They couldn't solve the problem and it was crashing like crazy, and wouldn't even load the full project. They ended up recommended reverting back to 15.0.1, which I did, and is rendering fine again.

When I still had 15.1 running, I did try a new test project and render and no problems, so seems like the issue is with previously saved projects... Don't think I will update again until 15.1.1 as I revisit older projects all the time and kinda need them to work on new versions... this usually isn't an issue.

Thanks for your response
