Adobe After Effects Slowness

Hi all

I'm writing this on behalf of the end user (who I will refer to as "Bob") and I am hoping to get your help.

Bob creates short animated videos and when he uses Adobe After Effects, it maxes out all available RAM and takes a long time to finish.

We updated all available drivers via Windows, Dell and Nvidia but this did not do anything meaningful.

We also tried disabling on-disk cache (as recommended on a reddit thread) but this didn't have any meaningful effect either.

I googled his issues and I've learned that this appears to be the norm.

Has anyone been able to either resolve this issue or find a workaround?

I was also hoping if there are any workflow optimizations?

The specs are below:

Dell XPS 8950

12th Gen Intel Core i7-12700K

128 GB RAM

Nvidia RTX 3070 8GB

Boot Drive: SSD

Data Drive: HDD (not used for animations)

Media Drive: SSD

His workflow:

I am receiving PNG background of about 4K resolution and SWFs on alphas to comp.
I will add lots of effects from Boris effect and Maxon, but nothing too crazy.
I will also use some stock footage in the form of QTs.
Shots are usually no longer than 300 frames at the most.

When I am done compositing, I will drag the composition into Premiere, and will edit them into their respective places within the edit.

I will piece together a whole video like this, then I will render and replace.
Where there are revs to do, I will right click the dynamic linked comp, click restore unrendered and then open original.

I will amend the composition, and then, once complete, I will render and replace again.

When everything is done I will export the rendered and replaced edit.

Thanks all

I do not mention the specification. Another approach is to use proxy of After Effects.
