Adobe After Effects using up all my RAM using more than the allocated RAM

Hello there, I allocated my After Effects 20gb of ram and it is currently using 21GB.

 

It is using more than the allocated RAM, and even when I lower the Allocated ram, the ram usage doesn't decrease. 


Right now my pc has 32 gb of ram and 96% is being used up.

Can you describe the project you are seeing this with? Do you have plugins/effects in the project?

Standard answer: Update your system drivers and check the settings. 99.9% of the time this has nothing to do with the program itself, but with incompatible drivers or botched configurations.
