ADOBE - FIX the way RECENT FILES on the welcome screen works regarding saving that file??

ADOBE PLEASE FIX THIS AS IT IS A PITA!!!!!!!!! DOES ANYONE HAVE THIS PROBLEM???

So I open a file through either Recent or from selecting a file on the Welcome screen when I open AE… and make edits, do work, and save this file with new filename date (which is how I work - new day sees update file with _Sep4 (today)) so that I have daily backups, and go to save it, and it saves into the last folder I had used from a previous different client job. If I am not paying attention because I ASSUME WHEN I OPEN THE FILE THROUGH THE WELCOME SCREEN OR THAT HOME SCREEN WHERE IT LISTS LATEST/RECENT FILES THAT IT WOULD KNOW WHERE THAT FILE CAME FROM, BUT NO. 

This has been a PITA for years now. PLEASE FIX!
