AE crashing sounds more like a resource clash than an issue with your set up.  The video files, do they have an unusual codec?  Do other files play without issue?  Are your graphics drivers up to date?  What happens if you go to File > Project settings and set AE to "Software Render only"?

Are you running any unusual plugins or anything that might be trying to use something else on your PC, like a network connection?

The only plug ins that might be wired is deep glow or element the rest is fine all my drivers are up to date and going to render only dosent work, on task manager it takes 50% of my memory after putting a plug in but before it hasn't, it only started after reinstalling ae from effects problem.
