hey peeps!

i'm having a small problem with after effects, when importing and animating the psd with the puppet pen tool, it'll sometimes cut out pixels like shown in the image i provided, there are no other effects applied.

does anyone know what the problem is? it doesn't happen every single time but it occasionally shows up, i'm fairly new to after effects and only use it to animate some stuff, also i'm sorry for my bad english.

This happens if you move the character after applying puppet pin. You can handle it in small amounts by increasing the mesh size. If you want to actually move your character, you have to precomp it and move the precomp.

As Martin already said, it works pretty much as expected. All distortion effects such as the puppet tool ultimately require fixed reference boundaries and in this case those are the comp edges. Arbitrarily moving the layer content therefore affects the distortion matrix and will produce wonky results. Indeed it would be wise to pre-compose your work to a suitably large comp with enough padding and only then apply the Puppet stuff.
