AE 2019 Audio Ram preview slow and laggy

I can't seem to figure out how or why audio playback is so choppy. Trying to animate a video to beats and RAM preview does not play back audio with the animation. I checked cache before playback. I have an Alienware with 64gb ram, dual 1080ti and a threadripper 1950x. My computer is powerful enough. I also have a separate ssd drive just for cache. I remember back in the day on AE2014 when you hit ram preview everything played back flawlessly. 

 

Is this something I just have to live with?

    Hi Michael,

     

    Thanks for reaching out. The hardware specifications that you shared are good enough. The playback speed can get affected not only because of the system's hardware but the complexity of the composition too.

    I actually found out that it was a corrupted plug-in that was causing all of my issues. Thank you!
