AE 2020 & Alpha Channels

Question

Suddenly I cannot import PNG sequences nor TIF files with embedded alpha channels.
I have resetted preferences and the option under interpret footage is blanked out.
Is there a fix?

How are the files created? Do the channels/ transparency actually appear in other apps like Photoshop? if you created them in a 3D program it might also be worth checking what options you used. Sometimes simple changes to settings or an update on the renderer can result in wacked out files that are no longer compatible.
