Ae 2022 bugs

Am I the only one with a bunch of problems with this 2022 version? The rendering new feature is nice, but I have problems with sound and other stuff so often.

    I can't use it at all. All I did was import a simple AI file to animate and it won't even let me click on the items in the composition pane. Sometimes it lets me once, but by the time I've set the second keyframe it no longer will. I can click around but nothing will let me select it. Then when I go to save, I get "not responding." 

     

    I'm using a brand new Inspiron laptop with 16 GB Ram, running Windows 11. So this seems bizarre to me. Seems like people with old setups are faring much better.

    Yeah mines crashing on me every 10 minutes or so. Rolling back to an older version that worked fine.

    Look at 3rd party effects.

    Thanks Warren. Just tried a clean install with no imported settings or plugins. Wouldn't preview a project. Crashed when I tried to open a new one. Opened and closed, crashed 10 seconds in to the same project. It's a basic edit without any 3rd party effects so maybe my low memory laptop just can't handle it.

    It's possible to have a stable system, but it can take some effort to get there.

     

    Some links to review:

     

    In troubleshooting, take a look at common things that cause crashes and/or sluggish performance including operating system, system drivers, RAM, storage media, source footage, fonts, and third party effects.

     

    If motion design is your primary use of your workstation, consider trying a clean install of the operating system and just After Effects.  Once you've established that that's working as expected, add other applications.
