AE Completely unusable with crashes seconds after opening project

EDIT: Temporary fix was to disable Multi-frame rendering. Still need to resolve fully so I can enable it.

EDIT 2: Still crashes anyway

I've experienced errors over my 20 years in AE but this is new... I can't use it for more than 1 minute now.

SPECS

Intel Core i9-14900HX
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060
64GB DDR5 RAM
1TB SSD
All latest Adobe/Win11Pro/and video drivers
DELL SE2419HR 24"

Then tried safe mode to get this error:

Would you try to reset the preferences when you run After Effects?

So I have customized my settings, my label colours, my axes settings, my grids, my guides, my auto save intervals/directory, my cache, and I really can't lose those settings because I rely on them to have my workflow work. Is there no other way? And if I do reset, is there a way I can backup the existing preferences?

Sorry to hear about the crash.

You can run After Effects in Safe Mode. It will launch with a fresh set of preferences for testing. Your customized preferences will stay where they are.
