AE crashes

I open AE, drop a video file and a still picture into Project, drag the video to the Layer window, and it crashes. This keeps happening.

    @RobShultz I tried with a different video file and it was OK. Then I tried with the old video again which used to crash and now it is fine! So I don’t know what’s going on.

    Can you please give us more information? What is the type/resolution of your picture and video. What are your system specs?

    Video is 3840x2160 50p ProRes 422HQ, 

    Intel Core (TM) i9-14900K (3.2GHz),

    graphics card NVIDIA GForce RTX 4090 (24GB),

    96GB RAM (fast RAM)

    storage 9.14TB

    Is this happening with any video/picture or is it certain file(s) and others run OK?

    I’m wondering if you might be working with a corrupt file.
