AE crashes after Sonoma 14.5 update

Hello

I updated to Sonoma 14.5 last month and now have sat down to start a new animation job realise AE crashes every time I do a simple task such as drag a file into the timeline. I have logged all these crashes with Adobe with my email address and heard nothing back as of yet. I have followed the previous trouble shooting solutions offered on other threads which is to start up in safe mode, reset the preferences back and disable and plug ins (I don't have any). Yet it still crashes over simple things and the software has become unusable at a time I really need to be working. I was on AE 2024 and updated to the latest AE v 17.5.1 and same thing happens. I have never had a problem like this with AE ever and it's come at a really bad time. Please can someone from Adobe offer some solutions? 

My Mac spec is: Macbook Pro, Chip M1 Max, RAM 32GB.
