AE crashes on Close Project, but not on Exit

Hi,

I have a project in AE that crashes with the message: "After Effects can't continue: damaged item 26:16,"  and I have to stop the AE process in Task Manager.  However if I just save the project and Exit AE, it does not crash and I can open the project again.  I have tried starting in Safe Mode, purging the cache, disabling plugins etc, but nothing seems to work.  I also tried uninstalling and reinstalling AE.  Any advice will be greatly apreciated.

Hi nishu_kush, Thanks for your reply.  I found the problem.  It was the Cinema 4D lite file I had in AE.  When I deleted it, AE would close without problems.  Fortunately, I had a video I made from the 4D project that I could use.

Hi Zaffer,

Sorry to hear about the issue. It looks like a project specific issue. Can you try importing your project into a new blank project and see if that helps?

Let me know the outcome.

Thanks,
Nishu

Thanks for getting back and updating the thread, Zaffer. Glad to hear that you were able to fix.

It's interesting that removing the Cinema 4D file fixes it. If you can, please share the project file with me. I'd like to investigate the issue.

Thanks,
Nishu
