I just installed After Effects CS6 on a Windows 10 machine (22H2), and everything seems to work fine except that when I open AE, I get an error message. (see attached pic file)

--Is this an important file?

--What does it do?

--How can I fix this?

--Do I need to  fix this?

Thanks.

Impossible to know. You have not probided exact system info. That's what it basically boils down to. Those old bits if Code may need a certain version of a DLL (MSVC etc. al), they may not run on too modern CPUs and/ or their internal acceleration requires a compatible legacy GPU. If you don't work with actual ARRI Raw files you can ignore it, if you do (since e.g. some Blackmagic stuff also uses the format) you're probably screwed. I can see no realistic way to fix this at thiss point if you don't want to subscribe to CC.

I do not work with ARRI Raw files, so I guess everything is OK.  Thanks for the helpful info.
