AE – Default Motion Tracker Points Do Not Appear (Using Red Giant)

Try using the Motion Tracking workspace. They are designed to simplify your workflow and automate specific tasks.

The classic tracker works in the layer panel, not the comp panel. Since you don't seem to have the "auto-open realted panels" or whatever it is called exactly option enabled in your prefs, it simply doesn't open automatically and you have to do so manually by double-clicking on the layer. I suggest you read the relevant sections of the online help.
