AE duplicating composition and setting it to be independent of the duplicated comp.

Afternoon,

Im a ametuer at AE and I'm curious to know if its possible to duplicate a composition and make it independent of the duplicated comp such that when I change the picture to the "download on google play" image it will still contain the same animation but not replace the "apple app store" image.

 

Any ideas?

You should use a script to do this, there are a lot of scripts right now that can do this you can try this one https://aescripts.com/true-comp-duplicator/ (it's naming your price script)

Hi Ryan. Select the composition in the Project Panel - upper left of screen - then CTRL + D to duplicate it. Rename the new composition and open it. I presume that's what you are wanting.

I have tried this already and I keeps the two paths linked. So when I edit one it automatically changes the other. That is what I am trying to prevent I want them to be two seperate unique compositions.
