Question

AE stealing focus

I've noticed that in AE2020 and 2021, as I alt-tab between windows, AE tried to grab focus back.
For example, it's often something like this:

- Use AE
- Alt-tab to another window
- AE grabs focus, like I'd alt-tabbed back to AE

or

- Use AE
- Alt-tab to another window / program
- As i'm using the other program (in windowed mode), if my mouse moves off that window, and in front of AE (if AE is full screen behind the window in front) it behaves as if I'd again alt-tabbed into AE.

Only AE seems to be doing this, and only 2020 and 2021. 2019 is unaffected.

Any ideas? I've tried other mice in different USB points as well.

Did you find a solution to this? Its driving me mad 😞
Stealing focus when autosaving in the background and on render completion.

not really, but I ended up upgrading to windows 11, and keeping my ae 2021 up to date, it eventually went away (and I didn't realise it until now!)

Thanks for letting me know. I'll consider win 11 😕😕

It's apparently a bug/ bad code in the hardware accelerated UI functions. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to affect all users, so it's hard to pin down what exactly is causing it and since you haven#t offered any system info it wilkl be hard to advise beyond the usual "try a different graphics driver".
