AE Text reformatting across many layers

Hey now,

I'm looking for help on the following:

I am creating a template that requires changing a lot of text layers over a lot of videos.

The text needs to change to font, size, leading, position, fill, stroke, and drop shadow. All of which can be copy and pasted, but I am hoping to find a script I could run.

The second part gets more complicated as the text needs to fit within a smaller width, and this also means that a layer often needs to be broken up in to two different layers. To explain what I mean:

Previous version                                                                      New Version

Layer 1                                                                                    Layer 1                                                  Layer 2

Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur                               Lorem ipsum dolor sit                           adipiscing elit, sed

adipiscing elit, sed do eiusmod tempor                                   amet, consectetur                              do eiusmod tempor

I was trying to find a script that could put the text into designated area, but not sure if it would break it up into separate layers ?

I've tried finding scripts on all of the above but have only managed to find scripts for different issues.

Thank you for any help you could offer!

You can select multiple text layers and change the character formatting using the Character Panel.

As far as fitting text to a specific text box size I know of no script that does that. You can define the size of the text area by clicking and dragging a text box in the comp panel. Then you could select the layer and adjust the font size to make longer sentences fit in the text box.

Unfortunately, the only properties you can animate and therefore the only properties accessible to an expression or a script are Source Text and these:
