AE time bar skips back? pls help

Basically, when im on an ae (2022) project trying to watch the video usually the first few times i press space bar it works fine then randomly eveytime i press play it doesnt move and when i press it again to effectively 'stop' it, it goes back on the video slightly?? Idk why it does this because Ive used ae for ages and it used to work fine.. anyways, when i close ae and open it again its does the same thing after a couple times, im getting sick of having to close and reopen it everytime i wanna preview my video. Anyone know whats going on or how to fix this?? Thanks in advance 🙂

btw i use a windows laptop which is a lil slow but it works fine for AE usually so i doubt thats the prob..
