Afer Effects Drop Down Menus Not Opening

Question

I'm running AE 18.1.0 on an iMac running Big Sur 11.2.3. I'm having an issue where drop down menus don't drop down when I click on them. Furthermore, when I click on a drop down menu, for example the font select in the Character menu, AE will deselect that preference pane, as if I've clicked off of it. Sometimes the drop down menu will appear for a split second and disappear. Is anyone experiencing an issue like this?

Sorry for your issue. Please share the following details:

What's the exact version of After Effects you're using? Also, what are your system specifications (CPU, GPU, RAM)?

Here's what you can try:

Reset the preferences of After Effects.
Create a new user account on your computer and check if After Effects is working properly in it.
