After Adobe Illustrator Trial ends, can I still use .ai files in a trial of After Effects?

Hi everyone,

I'm a student who is trying to animate a short psa project. I am using Adobe Illustrator through a trial period and was wondering if I could keep my .ai files until I start a trial of After Effects. When the trial ends, are my .ai files openable in after effects, or will they be locked? Could I extend my trial by subscribing then canceling for a refund? That would be last resort. Again, this is just a project for school.

Thanks in advance!

    Correct answer Mylenium

The programs are totalyl independent from one another, so yes, AE will open your AI files just fine. The rest makes no sense. Aside from the plan being a shady scheme, putting up with Adobe's poor customer service is not worth it and your only option would be a monthly paid plan, anyway, not a student plan. so for lack of a better word - this would suck massively. Just leave it be.
