After affects YouTube problems

So, I've rendered a video with after affects at the 16 x 9 ratio and when I upload to YouTube the video doesn't fill out the screen area 😞 I have no clue why,but someone's got to know!

any help I would appreciate and I rendered it in the format for youtube on after affects.

The most likely culprit is probably a non-square pixel aspect ratio. As Rick said, if you can show us your composition and render settings, we'll probably be able to diagnose the problem pretty quickly.

I actually figured it out on my own but I appreciate you guys responding

It is not working because you either created a custom comp size or set up custom render settings. We can't know the problem without workflow details and screenshots that show those properties.
