After Effect Black Preview Problem

I have been having a problem running Blender and Adobe apps in the same laptop. Adobe software will only works when I use the microsoft adapter player, while Blender only want the NVIDIA one. I can keep alternating between them, but my After Effect started lagging when I tried to use them with the microsoft adapter. I want to change it into NVIDIA but the black screen preview happened instead. Is there anyone with the same issue?

My driver is already updated to the latest one, I cannot keep alternating between both driver because it also messed up with my other video editing program. Please help me. Only the audio started playing while the video wont.

Hi William,

Thanks for writing in. I have seen this issue before. Please try the following steps, which has helped users:

• Close After Effects
• Go to the Device Manager (Run >> devmgmt.msc)
• Select Display Adapter, Right click on the "Intel UHD graphic card".
• Select "Update Driver"
• Select "Browse my Computer"
• Select "Let me Pick from a list of available drivers on my Computer".
• Select "Microsoft Display Adapter".
•  Launch After Effects.

Let me know how it goes. Moving this thread from Bugs to Discussions for troubleshooting.

Thanks,
Nishu

I've tried and know this will work. The problem is that I don't want to use Microsoft Display Adapter if possible because blender cannot use that one. I work with 2 software and both have different requirements.

We'll try to find a solution to that problem. To clarify, you've previously tried installing the Microsoft Display Adapter and experienced issues while using Blender. Is that correct? Could you share your CPU and GPU specifications? If you're using a laptop, please also share the manufacturer and model names.
