After effect does not even play 4K smoothly!

Question

Can someone tell me why is this app so crazy slow? I cant even play one simple 4k video smoothly in timeline. FX3 or Mavic 3 footage. Even when I play it in quarter resolution...Everything is set right, new drivers. It is totally unusable!

Could you help us understand the issue better? Are you getting any glitches? Does After Effects play the preview at a lower frame rate and not in real-time? Do you get the same problem with the cached frames (indicated by the green line)? Also, what version of After Effects are you using? Feel free to share a screen recording to help us better understand the issue.
