After effect won't paste text from another file

Hi guys, so I have a issue with Ae, I eed to cpy/paste text from a text file to my composition, and it just doesn't happen. Neither with the shortcut or manually. Any idea what's causing that or how to get this very basic function back ? Thanks !

You can use the Creative Cloud app to roll back one version. That is what I did.  Click here:

Then pick a build.
