After Effects 2020 Install Version

Hello! Sorry for this silly question.

I use the After Effect 17.3 (2020) version of After Effects, it supports my computer and I have all my personal settings. I also installed Media Encoder, the 2021 version, but when I tried syncing the two, I couldn't since they were different years. So I installed the 2021 version of After Effects and deleted the 2020 version permanently. Is there a way to get the 2020 version back, I don't remember all the personal settings I did for my previous version. Could you guys help me get back my After Effects 17.3 version? (the minimum version that is possible is 18.0)

You can't go back to a version in the Creative Cloud app earlier than 2021. I would encourage you, though, to just keep working and change settings as you remember them or run into something you don't like. I keep screenshots of all of my preferences so I can reset them and quickly restore them.

As for syncing, the cloud syncing of presets is only for syncing within a major version, (so 2021 could sync to 2021 on another machine). Each time you install a new version of After Effects where the preferences file changes, you're asked if you want to migrate your previous settings. You can also do this from the Prefereces > General tab with the button at the very bottom.

All that being said, I would strongly recommend you use AE 2022 as it has some serious performance improvements and great new features.

Thank you!

Sad that I can't get it back. The reason why I am not sure updating to the latest version is because I am not sure if my laptop can handle it.
