After Effects 2021 update 18.1 Mutiple issuses

After updating AE to 18.1 I started having several issues.

AE would crash when trying to open.

AE would open and run several versions at the sametime! I know this sounds weird but I would open a project made in the previous version where I had no issues and AE would just lag and constantly freeze up.

If I opened the task manager I could see AE running duplicates of all processes. I could use the task manager to end the extras but why??

Now AE no longer opens various 3rd Party Plug-in which all have been working fine up to this newest update.

I am now rolling back to the previous version in hopes that I can use AE again!

Hoping the next update will be better!!

    Yesterday same kind of issues. After an hour of remote official assistance the solution was to install the old versionof AE 18.0 instead 18.1. To avoid Dimanic Link issue between app I installed all  the previous app of the suite. Waiting for a working issue-free update.  😞

      Yes, this was an unstable update that should have been tested more!

        Hi D-Rocket,

         

        Sorry for your issues with After Effects.

        It could be related to one or more third-party plug-ins that are not compatible with the new version of After Effects. Try removing the plug-ins one by one and launch the After Effects/open project. Once you find out the faulty plug-in try contacting the plug-in manufacturer and check if they have an updated version available.

        For sure, it' always third-party fault.

        Try to test your versions before diffuse it.

        Our time isn't payed to be your tester, waste time with call center or uninstall softaware versions.
