After Effects 2022 and Dedupe issues importing sequenced EXRs

We're an animation studio that upgraded from AE2019 to 22. Our backend storage is on file servers with DataDeduplication enabled so we can save massive amounts of storage, this worked very well for AE2019, no issues whatsoever.

When we upgraded to AE22 I noticed that we started having problems importing sequenced EXRs into projects. We got an error that there were no files found in the directory. After some testing I found this was only occuring on volumes that had data deduplication enabled.

Not sure if anyone else ran into this, I ended up hydrating the volume and saying goodbye to 100TB.

That's not going to help anyone if you don't provide the specifics of your setup, such as the exact nature of your storage, your computer(s), your EXR files, save options and whatnot. From file system metadata having changed to different binary structures in the files to weird stuff with permissions this could be anything and more. You need to be much, much more specific if you want even a guess whether that's normal/ expected or not and whether there could be a solution to get back the old behavior, which I guess is what you are really asking here underneath your vague statement.
