I Updated After Effects Yesturday, and my Macbook Pro Updated this morning and now After Effects won't work, it is literally the only Adobe Application that will not work on my Macbook, this is the error message that keeps popping up.

(<26987> <Scripting> <5> Executing startup/shutdown script at: /Applications/Adobe After Effects 2022/Scripts/Why_the_parentheses_in_folder_names.txt)

My MacBook has just updated to Monterey

Need Help ASAP as I am near the end of a clients project and need to get things finalised and rendered.

I had the same. Try this link: https://community.adobe.com/t5/after-effects-discussions/after-effects-is-not-working-with-monterey-os/td-p/12475922

As someone has mentioned, it might be linked to your installed plugin, if you have any. That link just tells you how/where to move them all out of the Adobe plugins folder temporarily. After Effects then opened fine for me. The plugin that was probably breaking it for me was the AEJuice collection. That link above also has links to upload Monterey compatible updates for that plugin, but I haven't got time for that now! I'll check that later, I've wasted too much time on this this morning already!

Just an Update:

Have looked into the issue on other threads and other forum sites. Currently the main Issue from what I have read from other peoples experiences with the same issue is that it is a compatability issue between the current After Effects version and Monterey OS. As far as I'm aware the main solution for this issue, is to try and revert back to Big Sur. I have tried to get in contact with adobe to find out which plugin to delete to get it to work on Monterey But have not been able to get through and so have been unable to find a solution through this way. I am fortunate enough to have a home PC that is decent enough to run After Effects without having to go through major loading times for renders, and so I was able to finish my work on there, Thank you to everyone who has contributed to helping find a solution, I hope for those of you who still have this issue, that this has been somewhat helpful. The link that was shared earlier in this thread is a fairly helpful video on how to switch back to previous macOS versions. Unfortunately, until Adobe releases a new update that is compatable with the new Monterey OS, Going back to Big Sur is probably Going to be your best bet. The link that was put in the thread earlier is down below.

Thank you for your feedback Unfortunately it is a very interesting situation. I've been researching. As you said, I think this is the only solution.

So I have a massif deadline and my work around to get back to working again on my project, was basically to backup my whole computer via time machine and then revert back to BigSur... here is a very useful link I followed, and everything is working again... hope this helps in the meantime
